On Thursday, September 30, 2021, Canadians will observe the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, an new annual federal statutory holiday legislated by the government in response to the 94 Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Archbishop Miller's Apology and Expression of Commitment

B.C. Bishops' Campaign in Support of Healing and Reconciliation

The Catholic Bishops of British Columbia recognize the need for a province-wide initiative to raise funds to support healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in our Province. This appeal will launch formally in September 2021. The Archdiocese of Vancouver is launching its Campaign immediately, and then will hold an Archdiocesan-wide Second Collection on the weekend of September 11/12.

Q&A on Residential Schools and the IRS in Kamloops

In recent days Canadians have been shocked, saddened and angered by the discovery of the remains of 215 children in unmarked graves on the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. We pray for all those affected by the tragic death of the children who died there and at other residential schools in our country. They must never be forgotten.
