Here at St. Francis de Sales parish, we recognize the great need to spread awareness about the destructive nature and evil of abortion and euthanasia. We also recognize the great need to champion the right to life of all of God’s children, to savour the goodness of human life, and to accompany on the path of healing all our brothers and sisters in the world reeling from post-abortive trauma.
The main aim of the Pro-Life Group is not only to instill a respect for life in our community but to spur on our parish family to make a difference – upholding the Culture of Life by words and example. St. Francis de Sales has been partnering with the Burnaby Pro-Life Society for decades now and as we continue to ‘set our faces like flint’ (Isaiah. 50:7), together we’ll make a life saving difference for the decades to come.

Prayer for Reverence for Life
Almighty God, giver of all that is good, we thank You for the precious gift of human life: For life in the womb, coming from your creative power. For the life of children, making us glad with their freshness and promise. For the life of young people, hoping for a better world. For the life of people who are disabled, teaching us that every life has value, For the life of the elderly, witnessing to the ageless values of patience and wisdom. Like Blessed Mary, may we always say "YES" to Your gift. May we defend it and promote it from conception to its natural end. And bring us at last, Our Father, to the fullness of eternal life in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
March for Life Victoria
Reserve your seat on the March for Life bus that'll be heading to Victoria for the day on Thurs., May 14. And good news... The generous folks over at the Burnaby Pro Life Society will be paying for the bus transportation for all participants, standing up for the Culture of Life in our Society!
For the ferry ride... anyone over 65 is FREE... any young one 5 or under is FREE... any one in between these ages, the cost for the ferry is $35.

40 Days for Life 2026
It's that time of year again, brothers and sisters. The 40 Days for Life Campaign is rollin' along during our Lenten Season. And Saturday, March 28 (from 7:00am to 7:00pm) is our day to be present, in-person, down near the Women's Hospital in Vancouver (outside the JPII Centre).

St. Francis de Sales REPRESENT! A huge THANK YOU to all our parishioners and friends who came out on April 1 to pray for and witness to life during the 40 Days for Life Campaign in Vancouver. And thank you also to those who were praying at our church or at home throughout the day, even in the wee hours of the morning on April 1... (well over 100 in total)
I am so grateful for all our Pro-Life warriors who leaned in to this vital work of praying for our most vulnerable brothers and sisters and building up a Culture of Life in our society. And this work continues, dear friends, as we keep up our prayers every day and as we stand up for life in our interactions.
