Teacher’s Bio
About Mr. Laferriere
Mr. Lee Laferriere is a faithful parishioner of St. Francis de Sales and member of our formation team. He holds a Master’s degree in Pastoral Theology from Loyola Marymount University and Religion Teacher Certification from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools. Lee brings more than 43 years of experience in catechetical ministry, including extensive work in Religious Education and Faith Formation, coordinating Confirmation programs, accompanying individuals through RCIA, and leading retreats for staff, parents, and students.
From 1986 to 2016, Mr. Laferriere taught Religion at the high school level within the Diocese of Springfield, Massachusetts, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and the Diocese of Sacramento. He is deeply committed to accompanying people in their faith journeys and to fostering mature, informed discipleship.
Mr. Laferriere remains actively engaged with ongoing developments in theology and catechesis through regular subscriptions to scholarly journals and through 27 years of participation in the Religious Education Congress in Anaheim, California. Through his academic formation and decades of ministry, he has studied, developed, and taught in areas including Christology, the Hebrew Scriptures, Sacraments and Liturgy, Ecclesiology, Moral Theology, and Social Justice.
