Alpha is a parish tool for evangelization based on hospitality, sharing and open conversation. The same Alpha content is run all over the world by Christians of all traditions and provides a common expression of proclamation, service and witness. Millions of people have experienced Alpha in 112 languages in 169 countries around the globe.
Alpha takes people on a journey often leading to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. It enables people to ask their questions, share ideas, build friendships and experience the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is often done in an informal setting that includes watching a well-produced video series, a meal, and some time for community.

Friends, we're gearing up for Night #1 for our Summer Alpha program on Tues., June 6. We're going to have 100 folks packing in our hall to partake in this transformative journey AND ... we need your prayers!
During 6:00pm and 8:00pm when our guests are down in the hall (including our non-Christian guests who make up over 10% of our total attendees), we're going to have our church open (yes, every Tuesday night at this time) for you to come and pray... even if it's just for a little bit. The PRAYERS FROM ABOVE will vitally support all those who come to experience our SFDS Alpha.
For our prayer warrior participants, you don't need to commit to anything. Just faithfully enter our church sometime between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesdays and - while doing so - we hope you can offer some of that time for our Alpha guests who are drawing closer to Our Lord who loves them and who loves you.
Whatever prayers you got, we'll take 'em!

Yup, we're resurrecting in-person ALPHA here at SFDS beginning in early June. Our core team of leaders is assembling and we want to extend to you an invitation to join us. We've got a limit of about 70 seats for our summer Alpha program, so we encourage you to register early (see below).
