Men’s Bible Study
Following the summer recess, the Men’s Bible study group will resume meetings on Tuesday, September 13th at 9:00 am in the Church Hall meeting room. Since September 2006, a group of men from St. Francis de Sales Parish has been meeting weekly to study the word of God in Scripture. In that time, we have completed formal courses from a variety of sources on the books of Genesis, Exodus, all four Gospels, Act of the Apostles, several of St. Paul’s letters, Revelation and the “Quick Journey Through the Bible” by Jeff Cavins. This fall, we will begin the 24 week study of the Story of Salvation, “The Bible Timeline” by Jeff Cavins and his Great Adventure Series. This study will cover the same material offered in the “Quick Journey” but in much greater depth. “The Bible Timeline” is an excellent place to start for anyone not yet involved in Scripture study. We invite all men of the parish who wish to become more familiar with the Bible, and who are available on Tuesday mornings to join us. If interested, please call Ed Gaines at (604) 431-5092.
RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 21st at 7:00 pm in the school activity room. The RCIA is a process, which provides an opportunity for adults to ask their questions. The RCIA is for non-baptized adults who want to ask questions about the Catholic Church, and who may or may not be thinking of becoming a Catholic; for those married to Catholics who want a better understanding of the faith of their spouse and children. And for those already baptized in a different Christian denomination who may be considering being received into full communion in the Catholic Church and for baptized Catholics who have not yet been confirmed. Please call the parish office to register.
