First Communion Enrolment Mass
This weekend during the 9:00 am Mass we will acknowledge our First Holy Communion Candidates who are preparing to receive their First Holy Communion this May. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.
Catholic Press Collection
February is Catholic Press Month in Canada, and on Sunday, February 6th, parishes in the Archdiocese of Vancouver will take up a special collection to help defray their cost of sending the B.C. Catholic to parishioners by mail and e-mail. This is an excellent opportunity for parishioners to show their appreciation for receiving the archdiocesan newspaper, since all the money collected stays in the parish.
CWL Membership Drive
Following all Masses January 29th and 30th, CWL representatives will be available to accept membership renewals. The annual fee of $20.00 is payable by cheque or cash. World Youth Day 2011
Soup Supper, Saturday, January 29th at 6 pm Come and sample different homemade soups, which will be accompanied by different breads, a salad and desserts. Play the bazaar, and enjoy a fun filled evening, $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and under. Future Events: Sunday, February 6th – Brunch Sunday, February 13th – Bake Sale at the 5 pm, 9 am & 11 am Masses
Youth Ministry
Ice Skating Night – Friday, January 28th All ages welcome! We will meet at 8 Rinks for public skate from 8:00 – 9:15 pm located at 6501 Sprott St., Burnaby, B.C. Skating cost for 3-15 yrs is $4.00 16+ years is $5.00 and for. Skate rental is $3.50. Come out and join us! Bring a friend!

K of C Pancake Breakfast
Please join us this Sunday in the church hall following the 9 am & 11 am Masses for the pancake breakfast.
Bible Study Tuesday Evenings
We started January 11th, Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:15, in the church hall. We will be beginning with a “Quick Journey Through the Bible an Introduction to the Bible” by Jeff Cavins creator of The Great Adventure Bible Study System. If you are interested in this program please contact Marguerite at the Parish Office. Cost of the book is $25 payable at the first meeting.
St. Vincent de Paul Meeting & Pot Luck
The SVdP will be having a Pot-luck on January 18th, in the Church basement. If you’ve ever wondered what we are all about, please do join us for an Eat and Greet Doors Open: 6:15 to 7.30 Eat and Greet, Meeting: 7:30 to 8:30 – Briefing on what we do and what roles you can play in the SVdP. Please bring a dish along and join us meeting up with other volunteers

Ready Set Learn Workshop
SFdS Preschool is proud to be presenting this workshop again this year. We will welcome Carolyn Hart, our main speaker, on January 25th from 12:45 – 3:00 pm. There are still SPOTS available for this EDUCATING WORKSHOP for parents of 3 year olds and any parents of 4 year olds that missed it last year. Registration closes January 21st at the school office. Child care will be available for children not in our preschool program.

B. C. Catholic
Archbishop Miller has requested parishes to send the B.C. Catholic to their parishioners. The B.C. Catholic is an instrument of evangelization and a very important communication tool. We hope to send the B.C. Catholic via email to keep costs down. Please provide the parish office with your email address. If you do not have email and wish to receive the paper format please inform the parish office at 604-434-1328.
