Kick Off To Summer BBQ
Friday, June 11th from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. All youth from grades 6 – 8 are invited to our summer BBQ. There will be fellowship, games, food, and fun. Please sign up if you would like to attend so we know how much food to order. There will be hotdogs, burgers, snacks and drinks. The signup sheet is at the bulletin board in the entrance of the church. We are also in need of parent or youth volunteers to help BBQ and lead some activities. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Mylene at the parish office at 604-434-1328.
Youth Leader
Youth Leader trains youth to be leaders of ministry and forms youth in the vision and values of Jesus; helping them make the connection between their Catholic faith and their actions in leadership. Youth and adults use the leadership skills they gain to plan for the parish, school, or community group they represent. For youth ages 15 and older (entering grade 10 or higher), August 9-13, 2010, Summit Park, Abbotsford, cost $400.
Searching in the Spirit
Searching in the Spirit provides youth with formation in discipleship, and challenges participants to live out their faith values in everyday, real-life situations. Participants combine practical skills, a faith perspective, and spiritual development to learn and grow in their faith through activities, games, skits, presentations, testimonies and reflection. Most of all, it inspires the newly confirmed to continue on in their faith journey. For newly confirmed youth ages 12 & 13, August 23 – 27, Camp Jubilee, North Vancouver, Cost: $350 per person.

SFDS Community Spring Fair
On Saturday, May 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm come out and join the fun! Pony Rides, Games, BBQ, Candy Floss, Face Painting, Raffles, Craft tables, used book sales, White Elephant and much more!
Our very successful fair depends on donations from our community of new items for our Grand Raffle, Shoebox Raffle, Toys and other small prize items. Cash donations and event sponsorship by individuals, families or businesses are gratefully accepted. Donations can be placed in the bin at the entrance of the church. Spring Fair Flyer
Parish Education Committee
Elections will take place on the weekend of May 29th – 30th. The polls will be open for 1 hour after all Masses. Please check that your name is on the Voter’s List posted at the entrance of the church. An Advance Poll will take place on Wednesday, May 26th between 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the Church Office.

Respect Life Workshop
Parishioners keep Saturday, June 19th open from 9 am – 12 pm. The CWL is hosting a workshop with Catholic Health Association of BC in the church hall. The program will address Euthanasia, End of Life issues, Pastoral Care and your rights, and Advanced Care Planning, plus more. Please RSVP a message at 604-876-1714, Lucille. Parish Education Committee
Elections will take place on the weekend of May 29th – 30th. There are four positions to be filled for the next school year. All candidates nominated for election must be people of faith who are committed to Catholic Schools. Those eligible to be nominated must be practicing Catholics, registered in the parish, approved by the pastor and have reached the age of 21. Candidates must understand and agree to conduct themselves according to the “expectations for members of CISVA education committees”. The nomination forms and the expectation forms may be picked up at the parish or school office.

PREP Registration Time
Time to register for PREP for the year 2010/2011. Our Parish Religious Education Program is for children attending public school in grades K to 7. We also have a children’s RCIA, (Christian Initiation) for children who are not yet baptized or for children over the age of 8 who have not yet received First Communion. PREP is held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15 pm. Registration forms are on the bulletin board, in the parish office or at PREP on Tuesday. Register now to take advantage of the lower fee. PREP resumes Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.
