Coffee Break Woman’s Bible Study
Coffee Break women’s Bible study will resume after the Olympic break on Wednesday, March 3rd. At that time we will have our new books, “My Soul Magnifies the Lord”, a Scriptural Journey with Mary, available for purchase. The books for this 10 week course will cost $11.50. h3.Life Is Precious -Let Us Stand Up For Life
On Monday March 15th at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at St. Francis de Sales in church hall we are having a pro – life meeting open to all parishioners. We will have videos and testimonies to stimulate a discussion period, in which we hope everyone, will participate. We are also looking for volunteers from our parish to act as greeters. 2009 Tax Receipts
This weekend is your only chance to pick up receipts before they are mailed. Please pick up your tax receipt located at the entrance of the church. This will save us money on postage. If you have any questions or concerns about your receipt please contact the parish office.
K of C Pancake Breakfast
Please join us this weekend after the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses for the famous Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast.

10th Annual Thinkfast
All Youth from grades 8 – 12 are invited to join ThinkFast on the weekend of March 13th & 14th. ThinkFast is a 21 hour fast-a-thon where we will be raising funds for countries in the global south. There will be fun games and activities to deepen our awareness about hunger in the world. No Cost to join. Invite a friend! Registration forms can be found at the entrance of the church.
ThinkFast Preparation Meeting
Volunteers are needed for our annual ThinkFast. Young adults are encouraged to volunteer. High school students are able to receive service hours for participating. Our next meeting is on Friday, February 26th from 4:30 – 7 pm in the church basement meeting room. Preparations for Lent
Palms for Ash Wednesday
Please bring in your old palms before Tuesday, February 16th so that we can burn them to use for ashes. You may drop them off at the entrance of the church or bring them to the parish office.
Fast and Abstain On Upcoming Holy Days
The Church prescribes fasting (only one full meal and two smaller meals which together are not greater than a full meal) and abstinence from meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Catholics aged 18 – 59 are bound to fast; those 14 – 59 to abstinence. Those who are ill are freed from these obligations. Everyone, even those above the age of 59, are encouraged to fast and abstain. Parents and educators are reminded of their duty to introduce children gradually to the understanding and practice of penance.

Upcoming Events at St. Francis de Sales - Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time - February 7
Healing Mass
On February 11th at 2:00 pm we will be having our annual healing Mass for our elderly parishioners and those who are ill. Followed by a tea in the church hall. All are welcome.
CWL General Meeting
The next monthly meeting is Thursday, February 11th, 7:30 pm in the church hall. All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend. Thank you to all who participated in our membership drive. We continue to welcome new memberships and renewal of current members.
