As you may know the New Year falls on a weekend. For tax receipt purposes if you would like your donation to be counted in the 2010 collections please make your donation earlier – before December 31st. Also, please know that the parish office will be closed on December 27th and 31st. May God bless you for your generosity.
WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011 Fundraisers
Spaghetti Dinner this Sunday at 5:00 pm Come and enjoy all you can eat homemade spaghetti sauce, salad, garlic bread and dessert. Play “Portuguese Bazaar” and enjoy a sing-a-long with Father Nixon.
Poinsettia orders are now being taken. Please have your order in before December 12th.
Next week Sunday, December 5th. Bake Sale at the 5:00 pm, 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses and Breakfast at the 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses Come and buy your Christmas goodies and come downstairs to enjoy fresh Portuguese donuts, soup and bagels.

CWL Memorial Mass & Appreciation Dinner
A CWL Appreciation and Memorial Mass will be offered at 9:00 am on Sunday, November 28th, with breakfast served to CWL members, by the Knights of Columbus following the Mass. All CWL members are invited. If you have not been contacted or RSVP’d please call Marg Surinak at 604-434-8027.
Catholic Women’s League
Morning of Reflection during the Season of Advent. We invite our fellow parishioners to attend a morning of reflection beginning with the 9:00 am Mass, on Saturday, December 4th. Following Mass we will gather in the parish hall for coffee and refreshments where Father Smith will join us and speak to us on the topic: Trusting in the Heart.
Christmas Dinner Hosted by CWL
Everyone is welcome to attend CWL’s Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 9th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in the church hall. CWL will be serving delicious Asian food. Tickets are $12 and will be for sale at the entrance of the church at the 9:00 am and 11:00 am masses this weekend and next weekend. Youth Ministry Sunday: December 5th
The purpose of this archdiocesan collection is to assist the work of Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (“OYYAM”) in providing parish youth ministry formation through training and support. Youth ministry in our archdiocese continues to grow, as evidenced by the number of parishes with youth ministry programming, and the number of participants at diocesan events and training opportunities. Parishes with youth ministry programming will receive a rebate from this collection. Please be generous in supporting the youth of our parish and archdiocese.

Bring your loose change and come and try out our “Portuguese” style “Bazaar” also join in a sing-a-long with our own Fr. Nixon. We will also be taking orders for Poinsettia’s, this is the perfect time to order a poinsettia that can be donated to the church in memory of your loved ones or take it home to enjoy. 2 weeks left! Deadline for donating gift cards is December 9th as we deliver the hampers on Saturday December 11th. Please take a tag from the TREE in the entrance of the church. These different TREE TAGS are labeled with the age/gender of the family member. We can then give our families appropriate GIFT CARDS (ie: Sears, Bay, Wal-Mart), so they can choose and buy what they really want or need. There is a list of suggestions for Gift Cards at the tree in the entrance. Dollar value of the gift card can be what you would like or can share. Please drop off your Gift Cards in the collection basket or at the rectory during regular office hours. The next monthly meeting is Thursday, November 11th, 7:30 PM in the church hall. All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend.
Altar Server Practice
Grade 5 and 6 students are asked to attend on November 13th at 11:00 am, this will be for new and returning Altar servers.
Knights of Columbus Memorial Mass
November 14th at 11:00 am Mass followed by a luncheon in the church hall. All Knights and their families are welcome to attend. Please call Hermie at 604-526-3484 if you are attending or have questions.
