Farwell BBQ for Fr Terry
On July 5th following the 11:00 am Mass we will be having a farewell BBQ for Fr. Terry. Please pick up your free ticket after mass this weekend. There will be a wishing well at the event, if you would like to contribute to the parish gift please contact the parish office.
We are arranging a book of Good Wishes for Fr. Terry to remember us by. Please stop by the table at the entrance of the church this weekend to sign your name or write a message.
Attention Altar Servers!!!!
New Schedule will be out next week for the summer. Many people change Mass times or are away in the summer. Please check in at every Mass to see if servers are needed, even if it is not the Mass you regularly serve at.

Parish Changes
We have been assigned a new Pastor! Fr. Tom Smith will commence his duties here on July 9th, 2009. Fr. Terry will be on loan to the diocese of Whitehorse for one year. His last Mass here will be on July 5th at 11:00 am.

Pancake Breakfast
Please join us this weekend following the 9:00 am & 11:00 am Masses for our famous pancake breakfast. This will be the last pancake breakfast before the summer break.
Extra Masses
We will celebrate the following feast days during the month of June. All Masses will begin at 7:30 pm.

June 29th – Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul
Pro-Life Sunday – June 21st
This week a special collection will be taken to help pro-life organizations in our Archdiocese. Envelopes for donations are available in the church entrance. If you donate $10 or more Burnaby Pro – Life will send you a tax receipt. Please print your name and address clearly. The proceeds support your local Pro-life/Right to Life groups, Birthright, and Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Campaign Life Coalition as well as the anti-euthanasia groups. Thank you for your generosity.
St. Vincent de Paul Summer Harvest Food Drive
We are requesting donations for the less fortunate families that use our services throughout the year. Please take a tag from the tree at the entrance of the church, bring back the food item and place it under the tree next weekend, June 27th and 28th.
Altar Server Day & Children‘s Choir Members – Cultus Lake Water Park
We will be going to Cultus Lake Water Park on Monday, June 29th. The parish will cover the cost of the Waterslide pass and bus to and from Cultus Lake. Permission forms are on the table in the entrance of the Church, They need to be returned SIGNED, to the parish office NO LATER THAN NEXT Friday, JUNE 26TH. You will need to bring your own lunch or bring some money to buy your lunch. We will also need chaperones for the event (pass & buss fee will be covered by the parish). (Parents please step forward.) We will leave the Church parking lot at 8:00 am and return at 5:00 pm. Bus only holds about 70 children and adults, so be sure to register early. CWL Tea
To all women of the Parish, the CWL will be having their June Tea on Thursday June 11th at 7.30 pm in the church hall. The CWL extends a welcome to all ladies of the parish as well as, to all CWL members. Members who just bought their membership are asked to join us and to be welcomed to our Council. There will be a 50/50 draw with the proceeds going to Our Lady of Good Counsel Abuse services. Come and enjoy tea, coffee and snacks and time to socialize.
Retreat for Deaf Catholics – June 12th
Led by Fr. Mike Depcik, OSFDS, A Deaf Priest from Chicago. The members of the St. Francis De Sales Deaf Catholic Ministry would like to invite members of the Parish to join them at Mass for the opening of their Retreat. Fr. Mike will be signing the Mass in ASL and it will be Voice interpreted by E. McLaughlin for the Hearing members of the congregation. Our Deaf community enjoys interpreted spoken Mass every week. Now we have the opportunity to share Mass in our language with you, using a Voice Interpreter. Fr. Mike is a well known Spiritual Leader, Presenter and Retreat Leader to the Deaf Catholic Church across the World. We hope you will join us at:- SFDS Parish Church, June 12th at 6:30 pm, Reception – Light Refreshments after Mass.
BBQ Kick Off To Summer!
Youth Ministry would like to invite all junior youth, in grades 6 & 7 to our annual BBQ on Friday, June 12th from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Come enjoy the beginning of summer! There will be ice breakers, a scavenger hunt, relay games, and bbq (hot dogs and/or burgers), snacks and dessert. If you’re 19+ and wanting to help or chaperone, please call Mylene at the parish office. Those that aren’t already involved as chaperones through either the school or church will be interviewed. Please rsvp by calling Mylene at the parish office.
