Upcoming Events at St. Francis de Sales - Third Sunday of Easter - April 26
St. Francis de Sales Extreme Weather Shelter
We would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who participated in the success of the Burnaby Extreme Weather Shelter at St Francis de Sales. Our shelter, the only one in Burnaby, was open 46 nights (Dec 4 to Mar 31/09) serving an average of 24 men and women each opening and requiring approximately 750 volunteer hours to keep it running . “Thanks to all of you” we had wonderful meals and your timing was always perfect. When I thought we had little to give you managed to show up with meals and the many necessities we needed to have our visitor warm happy and healthy during their stay with us.
A volunteer appreciation tea is being held on Tuesday April 28th at 7:00 pm in the church hall. Everyone who helped in any way is welcome. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
2000 Hail Mary’s
We will be praying the 2000 Hail Mary to honour Mother Mary this month of May. We selected the first Saturday, we will be attending the mass at 9:00 a.m. then proceed to the meeting room to start the prayer until around 4:00 p.m. We are inviting all who are interested in praying and they could come at anytime and pray a mystery, at their comfort but if they want to start and stay which is really a great sacrifice. We have 20 mysteries and each mystery we have a special intention. so, it is Saturday, May 2nd at the Meeting Room of the Church Hall.

We are happy to have the support of our own Vancouver Police officer, Mounted Police and Burnaby Fire Fighters again this year.
